PROFESSOR JAMES S. MAKOWSKI ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP IN ACCOUNTING
In honor of Professor James Makowski, the Makowski Endowed Scholarship in Accounting will provide scholarships for full-time undergraduate students majoring in Accounting at Flagler College.
Professor James S. Makowski possesses a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilkes University. He worked as a licensed CPA for more than 35 years and began his teaching career at Flagler College in 1989. During his 33 years at Flagler, Professor Makowski taught more than 18 different courses including Accounting, Business Administration, and Finance. He also served on and chaired numerous committees, received awards for Faculty of the Year and the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching, and in 2011 was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa. Professor Makowski retired from Flagler College in 2022 and during the course of his tenure taught more than 1,500 students. He continues to help his community and has served as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the St. Augustine Art Association, and the Cathedral Basilica.

The Professor James S. Makowski Endowed Scholarship in Accounting provides scholarships for students majoring in Accounting at Flagler College. Applicable students must be a full-time undergraduate student attending Flagler College's main campus, majoring in accounting, with demonstrated financial need.
