About

PIONEERING TOMORROW'S SCIENCES. TODAY. With the upcoming launch of our Biology major in 2024, this is the time for Flagler to move forward into a much more competitive position in the sciences (coastal environmental science, environmental science and biology).

Help meet the demand of this young program with our immediate need for a Modular Science Laboratory.

As we launch a Biology major, we anticipate enrolling an additional 25-50 student majors in the first year, with a full-capacity program enrollment of 200 Biology majors and 200 Coastal Environmental Science majors. To keep pace with the growth in student enrollment and meet the immediate demands for increased laboratory space for our student and faculty investigators, the College needs to construct a new Modular Science Lab on campus. This 1,728 square foot space will increase the currently available wet laboratory space on campus by 25%, and will include new equipment and instrumentation to support the growing body of important research of our students and faculty.

The new Modular Science Lab will be the hub of our General Biology I and General Biology II courses and other lab-based courses which are in high demand and essential to supporting the new Biology program.

The Lab is critical to the success of the Flagler College 2025 Strategic Plan of which a Bachelor of Science in Biology is listed as the “highest priority” among the new areas of academic study. Biology, as a STEM field, offers our graduates pathways to some of the fastest-growing, most-needed, and highest-paying jobs in the United States.

This Giving Tuesday, make a gift to help our science students move Flagler Forward into a new era as we build the foundation for scientific excellence. “Investing in Science. Investing in Tomorrow.” Make your gift now to be one of the first to invest in this next generation of Flagler College. For a special sneak peek see below for the renderings of our new Modular Science Lab.
