The Darwin L. White Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Darwin White, a beloved coach, Dean of Students, Registrar, and mentor who dedicated nearly 30 years to shaping the lives of Flagler College students. Established in 2003 by alumni and friends, this scholarship recognizes the elected president of the Student Government Association, supporting student leadership and service to the College.
Darwin White’s impact at Flagler was profound. From his tenure as Director of Athletics (1975-77) and head baseball coach (1976-78) to his long-standing role as Dean of Students (1977-1994) and later Registrar (1994-2003), he was an educator, leader, and friend to many. He played a key role in the development of Flagler Athletics, guiding the College into membership with the NAIA and coaching some of its earliest baseball teams. His warmth, humor, and unwavering dedication to students made him a cherished figure on campus.
