The Dr. Bernadette Twardy Sport Management Scholarship was established in 2014 by alumni and friends to honor Dr. Twardy's 30 years of dedicated service to Flagler College. Arriving in 1984 with no plans to stay long, she instead found a home and built a legacy—most notably as the architect of Flagler’s Sport Management program.
Dr. Twardy’s impact extends beyond the classroom. She developed a program that has launched graduates into careers with major professional sports leagues, the International Olympic Committee, the PGA Tour, and beyond. Her leadership and commitment to professionalism have made the Sport Management department one of Flagler’s premier programs, and she remains deeply connected to the success of her students.
Supporting Future Sport Management Professionals
This scholarship provides financial assistance to seniors completing their required Sport Management internship. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need and be actively involved in department activities, such as the Sport Management Club.
