The Disability Resource Center (DRC) at Flagler College is committed to ensuring that all students have equal access to education, resources, and opportunities for success. By providing accommodations, support services, and innovative tools, the DRC empowers students with disabilities to thrive academically and personally.
One of the most impactful tools the DRC is working to provide is Plaud.ai, an advanced AI-powered voice recorder designed to transform how students capture and process information. Plaud.ai records lectures and automatically converts spoken content into structured, organized text such as class summaries, notes, transcripts, and action items. This allows students to engage more fully in class without the stress of keeping up with note-taking in real time.
This technology is especially beneficial for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, have learning or attention disorders, or experience challenges with written expression. By turning lectures into clear, accessible formats tailored to different learning styles, Plaud.ai helps students better understand, retain, and apply course material.
Through this initiative, the DRC aims to create a lending program that provides Plaud.ai devices and subscriptions to students who may not otherwise be able to afford them. This program will ensure that more students have access to cutting-edge tools that remove barriers and support academic success.
Our Roar and Raise Goal
Our Roar and Raise goal is to raise $2,500 to support the purchase of Plaud.ai devices and subscriptions for student use through the Disability Resource Center.
