Dignity Forward LGBTQ+ Oral History Project
The Dignity Forward LGBTQ+ Oral History Project is a collaboration between Flagler College students, faculty, and staff to collect, preserve, and share the stories of LGBTQ+ alumni and members of the St. Augustine community.
Through oral history interviews and archival work, the project ensures that important voices, experiences, and histories are documented and accessible for future generations.
Our Roar & Raise Goal
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support a community “history harvest” and ongoing research efforts.
During the history harvest, students, faculty, and staff will work together to:
• Record oral history interviews
• Collect and digitize photographs, documents, and artifacts
• Preserve stories that reflect local LGBTQ+ history and culture
Funds will also support travel for students and faculty to present this work at the Florida Digital Humanities Consortium annual meeting.
Why Your Support Matters
Your support helps ensure these important stories are preserved with care and accessibility.
With your help, we can:
• Purchase recording and digitization equipment
• Support undergraduate research assistants
• Preserve community histories for long-term use
• Share this work with broader academic and public audiences
This project not only documents history but also creates opportunities for students to engage in meaningful research and community collaboration.
Thank You
Thank you for supporting the preservation of local LGBTQ+ history. Your generosity helps ensure these stories are honored, protected, and shared for generations to come.
Your support reflects a commitment to community, inclusion, and thoughtful stewardship.
